Conscientious Projector takes part in National Hispanic Heritage Month with a screening of Harvest of Empire on Thursday, October 8, 7:00 p.m. at Armory Center for the Arts.

Based on the groundbreaking book by award-winning journalist andDemocracy Now! co-host Juan González, the lauded Onyx Films documentary traces the U.S. wars for territorial expansion, covert actions imposing military dictatorships and corporate strongholds in Latin America, and contemporary government and trade policies exacerbating poverty among the region’s indigenous peoples. Featuring moving personal stories of present-day migrants and their significant contributions to our society.

Pasadena community organizer Brian Biery will be joined by local immigration activists in an audience discussion following the film. The Armory is located at 145 N. Raymond in Old Pasadena. Admission is free and the facility is accessible to disabled persons.
