I Am on Friday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Pasadena’s Memorial Park
Conscientious Projector begins a weekend of pre-Earth Day festivities in Old Pasadena with a special Friday night outdoor screening of the powerful and inspirational documentary I Am, April 13, 7:30 p.m. at the Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena’s Memorial Park. Top-grossing Hollywood film director Tom Shadyac changes his life following a near fatal bicycling accident. Renouncing his opulent lifestyle, he sets out on a modern day search for enlightenment, seeking out some of the world’s great minds from the worlds of science, philosophy, academia and faith. He asks two questions: “What is wrong with our world?” and “What can we do about it?” The result is a revealing and moving examination of human behavior and the inter-connectedness of all life. Presented in partnership with the City of Pasadena and The Armory Center for the Arts as the kick-off event for the annual Pasadena Earth & Arts Festival on Saturday, April 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Memorial Park.  Come take part in the celebration!

Play Again on Thursday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Armory Center for the Arts

Please also join us for our usual 2nd Thursday documentary, April 12, 7:00 p.m. at The Armory. Play Again  looks at the contemporary phenomenon of the majority American youth who spend an average of eight hours a day in the virtual world and rarely, if ever, experience life in the natural world. Tonje Hessen Schei’s touching film follows a group of teenagers on their first wilderness adventure as they face the difficult challenge of leaving their videogames, smartphones, etc. behind. The Flintridge Center’s Brian Biery leads a community discussion.

The Levitt Pavilion in Memorial Park is located across the street from the Armory, 145 N. Raymond Ave. in Old Pasadena.  Admission is free for both events.
